Silly Season

And breathe……well, the blog has (yet again) taken the hit as the season has got busier and busier and busier…..but who are we to complain? The sun has been shining, the sky has been blue and hundreds of people have been hitting the hills on events run by or worked on by the awesome team here at Come walk with me UK. We have been up Tryfan and Snowdon with young people from Highbury as part of the CRUX project with BXM which included a beautiful wild camp above Pen Y Pass. We organised our biggest ever event for the Davies Group where we had over 70 people out in the Dark Peak raising money for charity and enjoying the magnificent scenery! D of E has continued it’s inexorable growth. We have had Gold awards in the Peak District, Bronzes in Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Staffordshire and I have completed my Assessor training which is another string to our bow. Days 4 and 5 of our West Highland Way reccy were completed and the weather continued to be kind to me (even if the Midges weren’t quite as magnanimous). We had one of the most beautiful wild camp spots ever outside Inveroran and conquered “The Devil’s Staircase” which was almost as gruelling as it sounds 🙂 There have been hikes over Fan Y Big in the Brecon Beacons, lots of wandering around Grasmere and along “The Coffin Route” and bushcraft camps near Windsor Great Park…..and the season is only just over half way through. After another week in the Brecon Beacons which is coming up shortly our focus will turn to the Summer expedition which this year is to Malawi, another opportunity to visit Africa and I cannot wait. I feel proud and blessed and happy to see the business going from strength to strength and thank everyone for all the hard work and support!
