Another round up!

Well, the year continues to race on and the first half of July has seen us engaged on a variety of activities here , there and everywhere. It’s only a couple of days til I head off to Tanzania with Camps International and West Hill School which is very exciting but the last couple of weeks whilst not as exotic have certainly been action packed. We have had a lot of time in the beautiful Brecon Beacons firstly on the Entrust NCS programme at the magnificent Clyngwyn Bunkhouse just outside Ystradfellte. We had some beautiful walking there in waterfall country with wooded glades, spectacular cataracts and picturesque villages and the young people proved themselves to be thoroughly adventurous and resilient and a good time was had by all.
After a weekend in Hereford where we had a lovely walk including part of the Offa’s Dyke trail near Hay on Wye, it was back to the Beacons and a school camp down by the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal in Llangattock. Three days on the mountains above Crickhowell saw us summit Crug Hywel and Pen Carrig-Calch and get wonderful views towards the Sugar Loaf and even as far as Pen Y Fan. We saw Ravens wheeling on the thermals, wild ponies and plenty of inquisitve sheep and we feasted on delicious snacks form Askews Bakery in Crick en route back to camp.
Heading back north the weekend saw us arrive back in the Peak District to show Michelle, from Northern California, the best of the White and Dark Peaks. We spent Saturday wandering through the Derbyshire Dales, visiting Alstonefield and Hartington and following the route of the River Dove. Sunday saw Michelle exploring the Kinder edges above the Snake Pass with Nathan and seeing a very different side of the Peaks, a world away from the gentler Limestone valleys of the day before.
This week we had a relaxing walk around Parbold and tomorrow morning we are meeting the good folks of Rightmove in Hebden Bridge for a walk up to the monument at Stoodley Pike, followed by a pub lunch and a stroll back along the canal. Sounds like fun!! If you would like us to organise something similar for you and your business please don’t hesitate to drop us a line 🙂
